What about the millions of white, inbred, poor hicks in the south and midwest who vote against their best interest and vote republican?

There are more poor, dumb people who vote Democrat than them.  That's the fact, not the fallacy.

I disagree. Appalachia is a pretty big area full of white trash repub lovers. Bigger than many inner cities, where people don't get out and vote anyway. Appalachian people do. It's their big night out on the town.

You may have your opinion, but the facts say otherwise.  There's not one study that shows lower income and lower educated voters vote Republican.  It's a generally accepted fact (accepted by all political science researchers) that the poorest and least educated overwhelmingly vote Democrat by about a 2 to 1 margin.

Find a study, I dare you.

You do understand only the top 20% of the population make $100k or more?

Left wing tends to support social support systems
Right wing tends to support less intrusion of govt/income taxing and support for corp. growth

Butt look at recent trends..wealthy voting republican is declining..

What trend are you looking at? That's not what happened in 2012, where a significantly higher percentage of the wealthy voted Republican as compared to 2008.  2014 showed wealthy people voted even more overwhelmingly for Republicans.

The trend is that more rich people are voting Republican, not the other way around.

From your first link, this quote below proves me right and you wrong.  In 2012, Romney got 56% of the rich vote.

"In 2012, by contrast, Obama won low-income voters, those making less than $30,000, decisively, 63-35, but also did far better than Dukakis among those making more than $100,000, winning 44 percent of their votes. Four years earlier, in 2008, Obama won among voters with the highest incomes, above $200,000, 52-46, and nearly tied among those making $100,000 to $200,000, 48-50"

Your second link has nothing to do with voting patterns and party membership.  Nothing.

                    Try again, tard.

You're a fucking idiot. Quit looking at just the data to support your argument. I expect more from you

Your statement:  "The trend is that more rich people are voting Republican, not the other way around."  This is false.

The trend since 2008 is for MORE voters to vote Republican.   If you look at 2014, more voters voted Republican than 2012.

                        You are wrong.  Admit it.

In 2008, the split among all voters who make >100k was a tie.  49-49.  First election ever that the GOP did not win a majority.  However, Obama won overall by 53-46 and most people don't know how that influences the numbers.  I bet you don't either.

                              How am I wrong?

Your position was that the wealthy vote republican. I cited a reference that contradicts.

You ignored the reference, and selectively posted a portion of the article that supports your argument, completely ignoring the rest

You cited an OP ed opinion piece that has data that proves you wrong. And you cited an irrelevant article.

Wealthy people are more likely to vote GOP and the trend has been increasing since 2008. Fact.
