Its basically other people's posts you werent interested in the first time, being reposted as a shared memory.

I like to post photos of my boy playing baseball. Partially 'cos I'm proud of him (This pint sized 7 year old first grader can crush the ball). Partially cos the family back home loves the pix.

I see 5-10 shared memories everyday. sounds like facebooks pathetic attempt to get people to post more and spend more time on their site
